Malabrigo is a family-owned yarn company in Uruguay that was founded in 2005. They are recognized worldwide for their magical hand-dyed colourways and scrumptiously soft merino wool bases.
All of Malabrigo's superwash processes and colorants meet Oeko-Tex standards. Their wool is 100% produced by Uruguayan farms that allow their free-range sheep through the hills, herded by shepherds. Like Canada, the controversial practice of mulesing does not exist in Uruguay.

They differ from a number of other manufactured yarns in the industry by having lengthier spans of color in the runs, causing distinctive striping patterns, as well as being partially spun by hand versus being produced completely by machines.
